Turner Exhibition at Petworth House

Petworth House Petworth House Petworth House

On a recent trip to Petworth House and a chance meeting with Ian their events manager, I was very excited to learn that a Turner exhibition is to return to Petworth House from 10 January to 11 March 2015 - fantastic!

I was lucky enough to visit the last Turner exhibition at the house in 2012 which was a great success and sell out so I'm sure the latest exhibition will have everyone excited.

Turner Exhibition at Petworth House

This latest exhibition will be a unique opportunity to see artwork and artefacts inspired by themes in Mike Leigh's award-winning film Mr Turner.

On view will be paintings that reside permanently at Petworth House with countless masterpieces by other artists in five historic showrooms which they in themselves are a delight to see. There will also be major Turner loans from the Tate and V & A and rarely seen portraits of Turner. The exhibition will also include Turner's personal possessions some never on public display before, props and costumes from the film Mr Turner, a short film featuring rare behind the scenes footage about the making of Mr Turner at Petworth House and ... the Artists' Studio - used by Turner and other artist guests in the nineteenth century - not usually open to the public!
